Primary Function: Entering resources into the Inventory System used across the District for accountability purposes.

Qualifications:
Education/Certification

• High School Diploma or GED required

Experience:

• Minimum of 2 years’ experience working with inventory systems preferred

Special Knowledge/Skills:

• Effective communication and interpersonal skills
• Excellent organizational skills
• Knowledge of instructional materials requisition and inventory management guidelines
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as government rules, procedure manuals, and safety rules
• Ability to develop spreadsheets and databases, do word processing, and use inventory and records management software

Major Responsibilities and Duties:
Inventory

• Establish resource items in the Inventory System.
• Support campuses across the district with added barcodes and entering specific items into the

Inventory System.

• Support campuses with checking items in, out and processing end of year inventory for accountability purposes.
• Support with inventorying District Level assets and processing transfers of materials between campuses and District Offices.
• Administration

• Train campus staff to use established procedures and guidelines to effectively and efficiently implement a site-by-site instructional materials inventory management and distribution system.

Additional Duties: As assigned by Supervisor

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Ability to use personal computer and software to develop spreadsheets and databases, and do word processing
• Proficient typing, keyboarding, file maintenance, and 10-key skills
• Ability to meet established deadlines

Interrelations:

• Contact with personnel within the district and with parents and students
• Will be working under the direct supervision of the department supervisor in order to complete day to day tasks
• Will be working with a diverse population requiring the ability to handle all situations with tact and diplomacy
• Must understand and respond appropriately to customer needs and maintain a positive attitude with all parents, students and colleagues
• Expected to interact with all internal and external customers in a friendly, professional manner and provide quick, responsive customer service

Employee Punctuality and Appearance:

• In order for schools to operate effectively, employees are expected to perform all assigned duties and work all scheduled hours during each designated workday, unless the employee has received approved leave
• Any deviation from assigned hours must have prior approval from the employee’s supervisor
• All employees are required to report to work dressed in a manner that reflects a positive image of ILTexas and is appropriate for their position
